Nora ~ 6 months - Lodi Baby photographer

It has been so crazy at the studio lately with so many babies and bellies that I have completely dropped the ball on blogging! So for the next few weeks, instead of blogging every session, I'm just going to highlight some different sessions I've done over the past 6 months or so!

First up is sweet little Nora - I wanted to highlight her for a few reasons! One is that her mama requested a studio mini session for her! While most of my milestone sessions are outdoors, I love doing them in studio when they are little enough, too! The other reason is that it's been so long since I've blogged, I am actually doing her 1 year birthday session this weekend and I thought, what better way to celebrate sweet Nora than to show her growth!

Baby Oliver ~ Manteca Newborn Photographer

Sweet little Oliver's mama contacted me about a month before he was due and it was the absolute perfect time to schedule a newborn session for her pending birth! Not many new mama's know that ideally, it works best to schedule your session well before baby arrives! While it seems difficult to schedule a baby who will inevitably arrive whenever he or she wants to, I always tell new parents that scheduling can always be adjusted but it is so much better to do so ahead of time if at all possible.

Once Oliver arrived and his wonderful parents brought him in, I couldn't believe not only how adorable he was but how awesome his hair was! Doesn't he just have the best hair?

After a client sends in their initial inquiry and are ready to book, I send you a booking form that asks a few personal questions to let me get to know you better! One of those questions asks what kind of color scheme might fit your home and what fits your personality. Oliver's mama asked for grays, creams, and navy which has been a popular but perfect combination for boys this season!

And with mom & dad's permission, I try to add in an extra dash of color that they might not have considered. Parents always love that unexpected twist to their photos! Here, I used some burnt orange that came all the way from Europe!

Little Oliver did a great job during his session but he definitely had a period of time where he decided to stay up and chat a bit! He was wide awake but honestly, it was awesome because despite being so alert, he still let me pose him! How darling is he??!

He eventually gave in and let us finish out our session with some dreamy shots.

XOXO,
Shannon

Baby Breyson ~ Lodi Newborn Photographer

How sweet is this little guy?? I always get so curious when parents come in with unique names and Breyson was a new one for me ~ I absolutely love it! I always strived to name my own kids something unique and cool and I just thought Breyson's parents totally nailed it! And seriously, could he be more cute?? Check him out!

Baby Adeline ~ Lodi Newborn Photographer

A little while back, a good friend of mine and his beautiful wife came to me for their maternity session and those maternity sessions really gear me up waiting for that sweet baby to arrive. It makes it even more real for me seeing the belly and then hearing that the baby has been born. To get to be a part of such a beautiful process is one of the greatest honors I could ever receive from my friends and my clients. So when I heard that sweet Adeline had arrived, naturally I could not WAIT to get my hands on her! Not only that, but seeing my lifelong friend become a dad put a warmth in my heart that I cannot even describe. Our session was SO fun celebrating her and her amazing parents.

Mom and Dad are huge A's fans and brought me some awesome gear to incorporate into her session! How sweet is she??

Her mom also brought Addy's great-grandmother's scarf that had also been incorporated into their wedding and asked me to use it with Addy. I just love little details like this that the family will always treasure!

Welcome to the world, baby girl. You are SO loved! (AND HAVE THE BEST HAIR!!!!)

Baby Micah ~ Lodi Newborn Photographer~

One of the first questions that new clients/moms ask me before their session is, "Do I need to bring anything?" And my answer is always, "You are welcome to bring anything sentimental you'd like to be in some shots but it's not necessary to bring anything!" Every once in a while, I get a family who has several things they want to include and I consider it a personal challenge of creativity - it is so fun coming up with new ways to use props and ways to pose a sweet little babe with sentimental objects. It turns these photos their parents wanted into even more meaningful photos when they can see their baby with things they brought from home or little trinkets family has made. Sweet little Micah and his parents came in with all kinds of fun things they wanted to have in his session! We had SO much fun coming up with new ways to incorporate everything! Check out pieces of his session below! :)

Baby Ruby ~ 8 months ~ Sacramento Baby Photographer

Remember that sweet little newborn babe I took photos of in the headphones and with her gorgeous dog Gulliver? Well, believe it or not, Ruby grew and grew and I got to see her again at her 8 month mark! There is nothing better than getting to see these little ones grow from their momma's bellies into laughing, babbling, crawling babies ~ not only do I fall in love all over again with  each baby but getting to see their parents and families is equally as exciting.

So check out the highlights from little miss Ruby's growth session!
